Haryana extends lockdown statewide


Chandigarh, March 23 (IANS): Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar on Monday extended the lockdown from seven districts to the entire state from Tuesday to prevent the spread of coronavirus. All inter-state borders will be sealed accordingly.

The restrictions will initially continue till March 31.

Addressing a digital press conference, Khattar said no public transport, including buses, taxis, and autos, would operate. Only emergency transport will be allowed for hospitals.

All commercial establishments will remain shut.

The Chief Minister asked the people who came from abroad to remain in home quarantine for at least 14 days and this period can be extended, if the situation requires.
