Foreigners held from mosque in Bihar, sent for COVID-19 test


Patna, Mar 23 (IANS): A few foreign nationals who were staying in a mosque here were sent to hospital on Monday to get the COVID-19 test done after the police detained them.

Manoj Kumar, in-charge of Digha police station, said 10 foreigners were reported to be staying at the mosque in Kurji area of Digha police station. They were taken into custody and handed over to the Health Department which sent them to the hospital to get the coronavirus test done.

Most of them are from Turkestan (Kazakhstan). The local people informed the police after they learnt about their stay there, he said.

He said that information is also being collected about their travel and the people who met them.
