Jaunpur: 17th UP district goes into lockdown


Lucknow, March 23 (IANS): Jaunpur is the 17th district in Uttar Pradesh to go under lockdown after a man with travel history of Saudi Arabia tested positive for COVID-19.

The state government put the district under lockdown on Monday after a local resident who had returned from Saudi Arabia tested positive for novel coronavirus.

The sample test results came in on Monday evening from the BHU testing laboratory.

The 30-year-old man has been completely quarantined and put under treatment.

Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath had put 16 districts including Lucknow, Varanasi, Prayagraj, Moradabad, Pilibhit under lockdown for three days on Sunday.
