Mangalore, Nov 25: St Joseph’s Engineering College celebrated its fourth graduation day on Wednesday November 25 at its college auditorium.

Chief guest of the day Dr Derek Lobo, former regional advisor, World Health Organization, said, “Students, alongside their education, must possess skills which will enhance their personality. So, besides academic certificate, a person needs to have positive attributes, commitment, morality, and ethics”.

“In countries like India, things are changing with time. So, the young enthusiastic professional, who has the capacity of winning over an employer in an interview, will be successful”, he said, adding that every one is an achiever and nobody is superior or supreme.
























 

Bishop of Mangalore Diocese Dr Aloysius Paul D’Souza and president of the college presided over the function and said that the students who are professionals of the future should hope for the best and this will lead them to succeed in life and in their careers.

Dr Lobo distributed degree certificates to the fourth batch of outgoing students of computer science, electronics and communication, electronics and electrical, mechanical, and information science sections of engineering and the first batch of Master of Business Administration (MBA) graduates.

Bishop D’Souza presented gold medals to the toppers. Director of the college Fr Valerian D’Souza, assistant director Fr Henry Mascarehnas, dean of planning and development department Prof Eric Patrao, and heads of the departments were also present.

Principal of the college Dr Joseph Gonsalves welcomed all. Dean Prof A Jayakara Hegde administered the graduation oath. Convener of the graduation day Dr Anjali Ganesh proposed the vote of thanks.
