Udupi: Annual Feast of St Vincent De Paul Parish, Katapady Concludes

Udupi, Nov 26: The annual feast of St Vincent De Paul parish, Katapady, was celebrated on Tuesday November 24 and Wednesday November 25. This year’s feast was themed ‘Live Family Life in Spirit of Eucharist.’
Fr Sunil Monis, Carmelite priest serving at a mission centre in Gujarat, was the main celebrant of the festal Eucharistic celebrations held on Tuesday night.
In his homily, Fr Monis called upon the faithful to lead their family life in the spirit of the Eucharist as the family life in the modern era is seriously threatened by TV channels and other recreational activities.
Fr Mathew P Vaz, parish priest and vicar of the deanery here, Fr Marcel Saldanha, parish priest of Milagres parish, Kallianpur, many priests from the deanery and neighbouring parishes, also joined in the Eucharistic celebrations along with Fr Monis.
The Holy Mass concluded with an hour of adoration to the Holy Sacrament and blessings on the occasion.
An attractive display of fireworks was also held after the Holy Mass at the parish grounds sponsored by parishioner Hilary Pinto, Dubai.
Fr Ronald Fernandes, parish priest of Katpady, presented the blessed candles to Lawrence D’Silva and family, the main sponsors of the festal Eucharistic celebrations on Wednesday.
Fr Prakash Wilfred D’Souza, administrator of Fr Muller Charitable Institutions, Mangalore, presided over the grand festal Eucharistic celebrations alongwith Fr Mathew P Vas, Katpady parish priest, vicar Fr Marcel Saldanha, and many priests from the deanery and neighbouring parishes joined in the celebration of the Eucharist.
Fr Wilfred D’Souza, in his homily, stressed the need for family prayers, citing that the family that prays together, shares in happy and testing times, stays together.
Katpady parish priest Fr Ronald Fernandes thanked Lawrence D’Silva and family, the main sponsors of festal Eucharistic Celebrations, parish council vice-president Catharine and secretary Theresa Lobo, for their generous contributions towards the annual feast.
Fr Fernandes conveyed best wishes of the feast to all parishioners after the Eucharistic celebrations. The Holy Mass on confraternity Sunday November 22 was offered by Fr Naveen Pinto, assistant parish priest of Moodubelle.
