COVID 19: Cong in Kerala asks leaders to act as good samaritans


Thiruvananthapuram, Mar 25 (IANS): Ramesh Chennithala, the chairman of the opposition Congress led UDF on Wednesday asked its leaders and cadres to work to be a succour to the suffering on account of COVID-19, according to the guidelines of the state health department.

Also, the Leader of Opposition, Chennithala held a press meeting at his official residence keeping in mind the social distancing to be adopted at these times.

" All our legislators, leaders and cadres should come to the support of the families in isolation, but it should be done according to the guidelines of the health department. They have been asked to prepare a list of people in their respective locality and to provide food wherever it's needed. Wherever necessary the locality has to be kept neat and clean," said Chennithala.

He also asked his people to see that when all hospitals now give more importance to coronavirus treatments, they should also find out if there are people who require medical consultations for other ailments and if so, it should be done.

Chennithala also asked Chief Minister to see that the Rs 20,000 crores corona package that has been announced by him, be put into place.

The total affected in the state increased to 105 and more positive cases are expected today even as the number of observation at homes increased to 71,944 while 466 are in hospitals.
