Bhubaneswar, Nov 29: Police seized at least seven double-barreled guns and about 2.5 kg of explosives Saturday from a village in Orissa's Koraput district and arrested at least 14 people, an official said.

The arms and explosives were meant for the Maoists, police said.

"A police team raided a village under Bandhugaon police station area and also found several other items including 150 Maoist uniforms, a wireless communication set and Maoist literature," Deputy Inspector General of Police Sanjeeb Panda told IANS.

"The material was seized from different places in one village," Panda said without disclosing the name of the village.

"We have arrested at least 14 persons in that connection and for their links with Maoists," he said.

Maoists are active in more than half of Orissa's 30 districts. Koraput district, about 500 km from here, is considered a Maoist stronghold.
