Six booked in Kashmir for violating lockdown curbs

Srinagar, Mar 27 (IANS): On the directions of District Magistrate Bandipora in J&K, the police on Friday booked six persons for violating restriction orders issued by the adminstration.

An FIR has been registered at Hajin police station against the accused.

Earlier, an open FIR was registered at Pethkoot police station against people who assembled near an ATM in violation of prohibitory orders under Section 144.

Appealing to people to stay indoors for their own safety, the DM said the chain of the pandemic can be broken only by staying indoors.

The Deputy Commissioner Bandipora has asked people to cooperate with the administration and ensure strict adherence to the restriction orders.

He said violation of the order would constitute criminal offence and attract strict action.
