A-I to ferry essential supplies across India


New Delhi, Mar 28 (IANS): National carrier Air India will operate scores of cargo flights on Saturday to transport essential supplies to different regions of the country.

It will mostly transport medical equipment and medicines using its fleet of Boeing 787 and Airbus A320 aircraft.

The A-I's low-cost regional subsidiary Alliance Air will also mount several operations using its fleet of ATR72 aircraft.

At present, only cargo operations are allowed throughout the country.
