Kashmir newspaper distributors suspend work from April 1

Srinagar, Mar 31 (IANS): Newspaper distributors of Kashmir decided on Tuesday to suspend distribution from April 1 asking newspaper hawkers to stay home.

These distributors have said that except for three local newspapers, 'Aftab', 'Srinagar Times', and 'Greater Kashmir', all other newspapers of the Valley are distributed by them.

A statement issued by main local newspaper distributors of the Valley said on Tuesday that given the serious situation prevailing due to Coronavirus pandemic, it has become impossible to carry on their job.

Already most of the local newspapers have cut heavily on their print order which has been reduced from thousands to a few hundreds.

Online editions of these are, however, still available.
