Soren inaugurates CM kitchen in Ranchi to feed poor


Ranchi, Mar 31 (IANS): Inaugurating a CM Kitchen in the state capital, Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren on Tuesday said that his government was committed to ensure that no one went without food during the ongoing 21-day nationwide lockdown due to coronavirus scare.

Set

up with the help of Roundtable India and Ranchi district administration, the ‘Mukhyamantri Rasoi' aims to feed around 5,000 persons in Ranchi and adjoining areas who have been rendered without work due to the lockdown.

He said directions have been issued, including to police stations, to set up similar CM kitchens and community kitchens across the state to feed the needy.

On the occasion, the Chief Minister flagged off mobile vans which will distribute food prepared at the kitchen in Morhabadi Maidan in Ranchi.

He inspected the kitchen and even tasted the food prepared there.

Soren said that mobile vans were pressed into service to take food to the needy. Seating arrangements have been made for those who visit the CM Kitchen here.
