Nine new COVID-19 cases reported in Kerala


Thiruvananthapuram, Apr 3 (IANS): Kerala on Friday reported nine new coronavirus positive cases, taking the total number of such cases to 251, said Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan.

"Today's positive cases includes three who had attended Tablighi Jamaat in Delhi. Today there are 1,69,291 people under observation at homes and 706 at various hospitals in the state. Kasargode recorded seven cases today," said Vijayan.

On Friday, the state police registered 1,991 cases, recorded the arrests of 1,949 people and confiscated 1,477 vehicles for violating the lockdown rules.

Vijayan announced that as per the directions of Prime Minister Narendra Modi a 17- member task force has been formed to discuss the post lockdown scenario. It is headed by former Chief Secretary K.M. Abraham.
