Delhi LG asks Health Dept to get medical essentials for frontline workers

New Delhi, Apr 3 (IANS): Delhi Lt. Governor Anil Baijal on Friday directed the Health department to plan and procure medical essentials and ensure safety and well-being of the frontline health workers, as they fight against the coronavirus.

In a series of tweets, Baijal said all DMs and DCPs to jointly ensure effective management of food centres with social distancing, directing them to open more food centres, if required.

"The Health department will plan and procure medical essentials and ensure safety and well-being of frontline health workers," Biajal said.

He directed the DMs and DCPs to monitor home quarantine and isolation centres and ensure that no congregation is allowed.

"Facilitate supply chain of essential services and goods," Baijal told officials in a video conference with DMs and DCPs.

He also said that effective lockdown is the strongest weapon in the decisive battle against COVID-19.

"Testing, tracing, isolation and quarantine should remain our focus areas," he said.
