Kerala HC helps pet owner buy cat food

Kochi, Apr 6 (IANS): A cat owner on Monday got help from the Kerala High Court to go out of and buy food for his pets, after the police refused his application. The court also said it would pass a general order to this effect.

N. Prakash had moved the court after his request for a pass to go out to buy food for his pets was rejected by the police.

In the petition, Prakash said as a vegetarian he is unable to cook non-vegetarian food for his three pedigreed cats. The only way out was a particular brand of biscuits, which was available at a nearby shop, he added.

Substantiating his claims, he submitted his cats' photographs and also a statement of Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan in which he urged people to feed stray dogs.
