Six Thai nationals booked in TN for preaching


Chennai, Apr 7 (IANS): A case was registered in Tamil Nadu's Erode against six Thai nationals for indulging in religious preaching in violation of the visa norms, police said on Tuesday.

A total of seven Thai nationals had come to Erode last month and were involved in preaching and had visited couple of homes.

One of them fell sick and was admitted to a hospital in Coimbatore where he died due to diabetes.

Police said a case has been registered for violating the visa rules by indulging in religious preaching while entering India on a tourist visa.

Out of the six foreigners, three tested positive for coronavirus and some of the locals who were in direct contact with them too tested positive.

They are now in the government hospital in Perundurai.
