New Delhi, Apr 7 (IANS): Congress leader Kapil Sibal has slammed the Prime Minister for lifting temporary ban on hydroxychloroquine and paracetamol which are presumed as preventive life saving drug for front line workers against COVID-19.

Kapil Sibal said "Modiji :UPA remembers your advice on Chinese intrusions . You said Look them in the eye. But this was time to look Trump in the eye. But he threatened, you gave in. Where is the 56 inch chest ?" tweeted Sibal.

Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, party leaders Shashi Tharoor and Jaiveer Shergill on Tuesday slammed US President Donald Trump's alleged threat to retaliate in case India did not supply a drug requested for by Trump to fight coronavirus.

Congress leader and former Union Minister Shashi Tharoor said: "Never in my decades of experience in world affairs have I heard of a Head of State or government openly threatening another like this."

"What makes Indian hydroxychloroquine 'our supply', Mr President? It only becomes your supply when India decides to sell it to you," said Tharoor.

Trump called on Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday and allegedly said that the US could "retaliate" if India did not release drug that he termed "game-changer" in the fight against Covid-19. On Saturday, India had banned the export of hydroxychloroquine, which the country manufactures in large quantities.

    Yes and plz note India was not under any threat from US, as usual Mr President just over reacted, he was not aware that Mr Modi had already lifted the ban on the requested drugs, so plz don't make a new propaganda about Mr Modi or India was scared of any retaliation from US in any manner. And I was sure that Mr Sibal and some people would make this a news to be in the picture as always plz do not mind them its their business u see they are trying hard to live as it will end very soon for them (names known to every Indian, I meant the honest citizen of 🇮🇳)

    I hate to say this, but this is the reason most of the opposition leaders are where they are. Nowhere or have become of No value except nuisance value because they supported by the unethical lobby paid media try to sell that PM and the Govt cannot think and do not know how to conduct international relations. However thanks to these useless guys , India and Indians are safe because people have kept them where they belong.

    Excessively Trump obsessive media like CNN, NBC, CBS etc who are labelled as 'Seculars' supporting illegal migration etc, just like our Congress, TCM etc asked these silly questions and got a silly answer. Nothing new . Since Hilary's defeat they have been doing this for last 4 years or so. The same is replicated by the Indian counterparts , irrelevant after being trashed to pulp in the 2019 elections, where some had to flee their bastions . If you have observed , they have not uttered a world on the recent Tablighi infection scenario.

    There is no question of yielding.
    Trump unfortunately tried romancing the Virus and fell head long into its trap.Americans are falling literally like Nine Pins due to this folly of Trump especially in New York City and he has requested the said hydroxychloroquine.
    He has got it....but do you know what India has got in return ?

    Bhandarkar is a present day living saint. He DOES NOT bring politics in non political issues.

    He is supporting our beloved PM. He supported him during the note ban, during CAA, during petrol/diesel price hike, Spending on the statue, during the sound system testing, during the light testing and surely he will support in the up coming drama as well.

    To best of my knowledge...US has 29 Million doses of hydroxychloroquine, and US does not produce them because we don't have Malaria in US like in India...if we have EXCESS give it to US if not say so...Problem with your Government Modiji....you NEED to learn to take decision QUICKLY...whatever it may be YES or NO....

    It is Prime ministers decision & We have powerful Prime minister Modi and Modi has the Power to give anything to his friend Trump and Trump is very powerful of all American Presidents.

    Don’t listen to the Congress all the bad economy in BJP first term is Congress & Nehru making and second term is COVID 19 & Chines making.You are grate Prime minister.

    Prime Minister Modi you should give complete stock of hydroxychloroquine and paracetamol to USA because all these drugs are no good, discovered & approved by USA & western countries and have side effects.

    We should stick to only Indian brand of Ayurveda medicine, Which helped British prince to recover from Corona Virus. Our Ayurveda & Patanjali medicine is the best in the world.

    USA gives good paying jobs, Student visa & green cards for thousands of smart and rich Indians. It helps rich Indians to invest in USA. So All USA settled Indians can give generously to Build Grand Rama Temple in India.

    USA also will give us free supply of wheat powder, milk powder and soybean oil when we will become poor, Just like the days after 1962 India China war & 1965 India Pakistan war. 1971 India Pakistan war. Give what ever Trump ask and USA will give us visa, green card and food when we need them most.

    Detractors always try to find fault with the government.India is producer of 70%HCQ(hydroxychloroquine) of the world.

    40%American drugs are from India.If you dont supply now ,dont you think it is a death blow to Indian pharma business?

    Last 10 years what is the situation of pharma ?How many units shut due to USFDA rejections?.

    What Indian government now asked Trump is to ease FDA approvals for Indian Pharmas also quicken them.Please note India has capacity to increase the output within 2 to 3 weeks time.
    Please note HCQ may be working more effectively for US variant..It is yet to prove its effective use in India for Covid 19.
    Hope the critics try to understand and criticise...
