Support a poor family to show me your respect: PM

New Delhi, Apr 8 (IANS): Prime Minister Modi has urged Indians with economic means to financially support one poor family till the coronavirus outbreak continues.

"It has been brought to my attention that some people are campaigning to honour Modi by standing for 5 minutes. At first glance, it seems like a scandal to drag Modi into dispute," PM tweeted.

Then he went on to add, "Maybe it is someone's goodwill, yet I insist that if you really have so much love and want to honour Modi, then take the responsibility of a poor family, at least as long as the corona virus crisis is there. There can be no greater honour for me than this."

This is not the first time he urged people to help the needy and deprived in this hour of crisis. India is amid a 21-day shutdown to contain the spread of Coronavirus.
