Lucknow, Apr 9: Anganwadi workers surveying Uttar Pradesh's COVID-19 hotspot area of Gautam Budh Nagar in Harola Village, Sector-5, Noida claimed that they had no protective gears except masks. After the area was found to be a hotspot it was sealed by the administration.
"We go on door to door survey and collect information about whether people have any problems. But, we are given a single mask and nothing else." one of the Anganwadi workers said.

Given the exposure, Anganwadi workers are at greater risk of contracting the infection and therefore the government should take the responsibility of providing all the essential items but no arrangements are reportedly made for their safety.
The worker also claimed that they have been doing all what is assigned to them and what is to befall can be seen only in the future and they hope everything would be fine.
The Ministry of Health and Family Welfare declared that the total number of coronavirus cases have mounted to 5,734 on Thursday. Around 5,095 cases are active and 472 have been recovered or discharged. The death toll has risen to 166 after 17 new deaths reported in the past 24 hours.
