2 cases from Anantapur push AP tally to 365


Amaravati, Apr 10 (IANS): With two confirmed cases reported from tests conducted overnight, the total number of COVID-19 cases in Andhra Pradesh climbed marginally to 365 on Friday morning. The media bulletin issued by the state nodal officer stated that the two new cases were detected from Anantapur district.

Srikant Arja, state nodal officer stated that of the 892 COVID-19 tests conducted in the state during the past 24 hours, 17 samples were confirmed as positive cases.

Till date, 10 affected persons have been cured and discharged from hospitals in the state. The death toll in AP had touched six on Thursday, following the death of two persons in Guntur and Anantapur districts respectively.

Despite no new cases reported in the latest batch of tests, Kurnool district continues to lead with 75 cases.

With two new cases on Thursday, Anantapur district tally rose to 15 but remained far behind Guntur district where the tally stands at 51. Nellore district remained in the third position,with 48 positive cases.
