Karnataka BJP MLA A S Jayaram 'celebrates' birthday amid lockdown

Tumakuru, Apr 11 (IANS): Ruling BJP legislator A S Jayaram reportedly 'celebrated' his 51st birthday amid lockdown at a village in Tumakuru district, the police said on Friday, April 10.

"Jayaram's family members and relatives celebrated his birthday in a house compound at Ankalakuppe village in Gubbi taluk where hundreds of his supporters also gathered to felicitate him," Gubbi police inspector P.M. Nagaraj told IANS over phone.

Jayaram won from the Turuvakare segment in the same district in the May 2018 Assembly elections.

"As Jayaram's birthday coincided with the Hanuman Jayanthi function in the area, food was served to the people who gathered at the Anjaneya Swamy temple in the adjacent Manikuppe village," Nagaraj said.

Denying that the legislator violated the lockdown, Nagaraj said the birthday function was held in a compound at Ankalakuppe whereas free food was served in the temple vicinity at Manikuppa, which is an adjacent village.

"Social distancing was, however, not observed, when food (lemon rice) was served, as the village folk scrambled to grab the food packets," admitted Nagaraj.

Jayaram was not reachable on his phone till late night.

This money he could have given to the chief minister's relief fund or made use of the tumkur people who gave him victory. I wonder, rules are for whom? Whatever we comment here, just waste of time. Whatever it may be either corona, or more dangerous virus than this, there we won't see any signs of change in the behaviour and attitudes of some politicians and pride will remain the same ..

This fellow thinks he is above the law. Hence such brazen flouting of rules. All over the country, people are cooling their heels within the four walls of their houses. My heart goes out to the daily wage earners get nothing to eat if they don't go our for work. Even such people are following the rules and remaining indoors. Here we have this so called people's representative who thinks he can get away with anything. Without doubt, stern action should be taken against him. The CM or even the PM should get his sacked for this offence.

(1) Policeman taking out procession at Pilibhit in UP (2) Yogi conducting Ram Lalla event (3) CM attending wedding at Belgaum (4) Conducting party helpline launch function with more than 5 people whereas no political activity is allowed during lock-down and awaiting anxiously to see the administration or party in action or inaction

What can MLA do if his supporters celebrate his birthday as a token of their love for their MLA :) :) :) If his supporters are ready to take punishment to save someone from condemnation, how can we blame them, that too on a Easter day :) :) :)

Belated birthday wishes to MLA .

Please don’t call it "Double standards" as double standard has been the hallmark or the standard principle of the so called ‘principled” party which always goes out of the way to do morale policing. And what is the use of outrage and hashtags as its National Leader itself is known to turn a deaf ear to all the hooliganism perpetrated by his own party people. What action has been taken on the Police who took procession at Pilbhilt during Janata curfew whereas a person went out to buy essentials in Goa was thrashed. What happened to Yogi who conducted Ram Lalla event during Covid or even the CM who attended wedding ceremony at Belgaum. Party can conduct helpline launch function with more than five persons whereas if you conduct any function; even behind closed doors with more than 5 persons, you will be taken to task. Kudos to the MLA for sticking to the principled attitude of the party of preaching one thing and doing another. I would blame the electorate who voted him for expecting more from him :) :)

Is this in Karnataka, India? Just read yesterday's news: The PDO brought the matter to the notice of Byndoor tahsildar Basappa P Poojary and taluk bailiff. The tahsildar and bailiff filed a complaint with the police accusing Fr Fred Mascarenhas and six others of violating the strict rules of lock down and urged to take suitable action under column 144 (3) CrPC. PSI of Gangolli police station is investigating further.

May be we ask PSI of Gangolli to investigate this matter to so that conscience of the Police and the prosecutors in Karnataka may be cleared!
If PDO and Tahsildar are jobless, they too could apply for this additional employment.

Clear double standards by the saffron party.

On Maundy Thursday, case was filed against a priest and six others in Padukone. Just seven people inside the whole big church and see in this snap how close people are standing. No action by the chaddi party.

Some jealous non-christian sanghi fellow had tipped off about the seven people praying in the church to the tahsildar.

This is the problem with BJP. Their cadres do not follow the rules. How can they others to follow? The country is divided on communal lines because of these acts.
