Agra MP leads by example with 50 tractors to sanitise hotspots

Agra, Apr 11 (IANS): Agra city MP SP Singh Baghael, on Saturday led a fleet of 50 tractors with tanks to spray sodium hydrochloride to sanitise the hotspots in the city.

Baghael himself drove a tractor with his son, to spray the chemical mixture on exposed structures, roads, shop shutters.

The BJP Lok Sabha member mobilised tractors from different villages, arranged for the chemicals and food for drivers.

"While the Agra Municipal Corporation was under fire from all sections for dragging its feet in not being able to respond to demands for fumigation, fogging and sanitisation, our local MP has set an example. One hopes other politicians will come forward to take the lead in cleaning and helping to mobilise public support for the fight against Covid-19," said river activist Pandit Jugal Kishore.

Meanwhile, the number of Covid-19 positive cases went up to 91, with three more samples testing positive. The district administration has increased the number of hot zones to 33 from 22 on Friday.
