Mangaluru: Police commissioner cautions public against fraudulent corona money transfer calls

Mangaluru, Apr 11: Police commissioner Dr P S Harsha has cautioned the public not to fall prey to the increasing number of cybercrimes with regard to the prime minister and chief minister care funds.

In a press release, the police commissioner said that some miscreants are found to be giving fake account numbers and getting the money transferred to their personal accounts.

He warned the public to be alert and not to receive any fake calls.

“Due to the lockdown, the central and the state government are using the Jandhan scheme for the purpose of money transfer. But some miscreants were found to be cheating and trapping people by calling and extracting their account number and OTP, making them fall prey to it. One such case has already been filed in the district police limits,” he stated in the press release.

The police commissioner has asked the public to be aware of any fraudulent calls regarding any kinds of money transfers. He has also urged the public not to disclose their OTP, bank account number or IFSC code to anyone. He also said that regarding any doubts regarding money transfers, the customers should approach their nearest bank branches.

    Within days Modiji deposited thousands of crores to the beneficiary account. Just imagine if this was congress govt now how many crores would ha e been looted at every level and people would have been left to starve. Modi helping everyone irrespective of minority or majority tag.

    These kind of calls have been going round for a couple of days,

    Let us pay attention to the timely warning by The Police Commissioner.
