Centre to ramp up dedicated Covid-19 hospitals


New Delhi, Apr 11 (IANS): The Centre is following a graded approach to ensure availability of critical items, like PPEs, N95 masks, testing kits, medicines and ventilators, and plans to ramp up dedicated Covid-19 hospitals at both central and State levels.

As of Saturday, there are 586 dedicated Covid facilities, 1,04,613 isolation beds and 11,836 ICU beds.

For helping frontline health workers, the AIIMS, New Delhi, is organising a series of webinars.

Since Covid-19 affects respiratory system, the Ministry of AYUSH has issued guidelines on respiratory health and proposed that AYUSH solutions be included in the district contingency plan in containing coronavirus infection.

For instance, Agra, where the fist cluster was detected, focused on the cluster containment strategy to fight Covid-19. The Agra strategy is also being shared with other states.
