Bagalkot, Apr 12: A youth who had become angry after elders in the family chided him to be more responsible, returns to his family fold after a gap of two years. This unity was made possible by the coronavirus-induced lockdown.

The youngster whom the family gleefully welcomed back, happens to be Prashanth Muttaragi (22) from Kaladagi village in this taluk. 'Manasakshi Foundation' from Gokak in Belagavi district helped in making this family reunion possible.

Incensed at the way he was reprimanded by his parents two years back, Prashanth had left home and boarded a train bound for Bengaluru. He had started to work for a hotel there. Because of nation-wide lockdown clamped because of coronavirus infection, he got into a train and reached Gokak town about 20 days back. Members of the above foundation saw that Prashanth was moving around the town aimlessly. They questioned him and uploaded his photograph through social websites. Prashant's relatives who saw the photo contacted Manasasakshi Foundation members. However, because of lockdown conditions, parents of Prashanth were unable to go to Gokak to fetch their son back.

The foundation members then sought help from the tahsildar and police. Later, a vehicle was arranged to drop Prashanth back at his home in Kaladagi village.
