Mangaluru, Apr 12: City police commissioner Dr P S Harsha on Sunday April 12 warned the public against illegally using drones for filming or any other purposes.

"It is observed that a few private persons are illegally using drones to film Mangaluru city. Mangaluru is a sensitive place with lots of vital installations," the police commissioner said.

He warned that anyone caught flying a drone will not only result in seizure of the drone but also firm legal action against the person responsible.

He also requested the media not to hire drone services for filming or any other purpose.

Decrease in lockdown violations

The police commissioner also said that due to strict enforcement of the lockdown in the city, the number of vehicles seized on Sunday April 12 has come down considerably.

Only 63 vehicles were seized on Sunday, as against 167 on Saturday April 11. Among these, 53 were two-wheelers, three three-wheelers and seven four-wheelers.

This shows our attitude in these tough times. People try to take advantage wherever and whenever they can, and need to be reminded of their limits every time. Sad.
