Two held for using communally abusive words in Gurugram

Gurugram, Apr 13 (IANS): Two persons were arrested in Bhimgarh Kheri area near the Gurugram railway station on Monday on the charge of using abusive language against each other's communities, police said.

Police said it acted timely to prevent communal tension in the area by arresting both from the spot.

Sector 5 police station SHO Shamsuddin said that accused Sanjay Kumar and Sajid Khan were natives of Sultanpur and Araia districts of Uttar Pradesh and brawled over a trivial issue.

"They breached the lockdown order and also used community-related abusive language. Such an act could have triggered communal tension and hence both were booked under the IPC provisions," the SHO said.

Gurugram police later presented the accused before a duty magistrate who granted them bail.
