2 Punjab jails turn quarantine centres


Chandigarh, Apr 16 (IANS): As a preventive step to handle the coronavirus crisis, Punjab Jails Minister Sukhjinder Randhawa on Thursday said two jails in the state -- Barnala and Patti -- have been turned into quarantine centres.

A total of 412 inmates lodged there have been shifted to other jails.

He said new inmates would be lodged for quarantine in the jails after medical examination.
