Chennai, Apr 17 (IANS): A day after reporting a dip in the number of new coronavirus positive cases, Tamil Nadu on Friday reported 56 new cases taking the total number to 1,323.
In a statement issued here, the government said 56 new Coronavirus positive cases were registered during the past 24 hours.
Meawhile, the total number of Covid-19 patients discharged from various hospitals till date in the state stands at 283.
Tamil Nadu Chief Minister K.Palaniswami on Thursday claimed that the total number of persons testing positive for coronavirus in the state is declining, citing 25 persons tested positive on that day and 36 persons on Wednesday.
On the other hand, DMK President M.K.Stalin on Friday wondered how Palaniswami could say the disease is on the downswing when the test results for 1,383 persons are under process.
