Congress Working Committee to meet on Covid-19


New Delhi, Apr 20 (IANS): The Congress working committee will meet on Thursday through video conferencing to discuss the Covid-19 pandemic and lockdown situation.

Congress General Secretary K.C. Venugopal said "A meeting of the CWC will be held on Thursday, 23rd April, at 10.30 am through video conferencing to discuss the current Covid-19 pandemic and lockdown situation. All CWC Members, Permanent and Special Invitees, CMs of Congress-ruled states will take part in the meeting."

The Congress interim President has also constituted a consultative committee to discuss Covid pandemic which met on Monday headed by Manmohan Singh met on Monday and demanded Rs 7,500 cash transfer in all Jandhan and pension accounts of widows, disabled and aged people.

Former Union minister Jairam Ramesh who is member of the committee addressing a press conference said that "the committee will give the recommendation on the MSME and agriculture sector in a day or two and government has no dearth of money so they should transfer cash immediately."
