Two more die in Andhra, death toll rises to 22


Amaravati, Apr 21 (IANS): Two more died of Covid-19 in Andhra Pradesh while 35 new positive cases were reported during the last 24 hours, the health department said on Tuesday.

Both the fatalities were reported from Guntur district. With this the death toll in the state rose to 22.

So far, 6 deaths each were reported from Guntur and Krishna districts, 5 from Kurnool, 3 from Anantahpur and two from Nellore.

According to the medical bulletin, 5022 samples were tested during the last 24 hours and out of these 35 were found positive. The total number of positive cases mounted to 757 in the state.

Four more persons were discharged from hospitals. With this the total number of persons recovered and discharged rose to 96. The total number of active cases now stands at 639.
