COVID-19: 5 more test positive in Odisha, total 79


Bhubaneswar, Apr 21 (IANS): Five more persons tested coronavirus positive in Odisha on Tuesday, taking the total number of such cases to 79 in the state, the Health Department said.

All five cases reported from Balasore district are close relatives of previous positive cases, the department said.

Two positive cases, including a two-year-old child, were also reported from Balasore district on Monday. As many as 13 positive cases were reported in Odisha on Monday.

The active cases in Odisha now are 53, since 25 persons have been cured and discharged from hospitals whereas a 72-year-old man from Bhubaneswar died of the disease.

Meanwhile, Health Secretary Nikunja Bihari Dhal has directed experts from medical colleges, senior health officers and others to oversee containment measures in Balasore, Bhadrak and Jajpur districts.
