8 more corona cases in Rae Bareli, tally reaches 43


Rae Bareli, Apr 22 (IANS): Eight more corona positive persons were reported in Uttar Pradesh's Rae Bareli district on Wednesday -- a day after 33 persons had tested positive for the deadly virus.

With this the total number of corona positive cases in Rae Bareli has reached 43.

District magistrate Shubhra Saxena in a press statement said that all those who have tested positive on Wednesday are in the Kripalu Medical Research Centre where they had been quarantined.

The District Magistrate said that the necessary treatment was being given to the corona positive patients.

The ones who had tested positive on Tuesday were also the ones who had been quarantined in the Kripalu Centre.

Out of the 33 new coronavirus patients that had been found in Rae Bareli on Tuesday, 31 were connected to the Tablighi Jamaat members who hail from Saharanpur.

Most of the persons who had tested positive for coronavirus are from Bahchhrawan, Nasirabad, and Sadar areas. All these areas have now being sealed since some of those who had tested positive are vegetables and fruit vendors.

The official said that the contact tracing would be done as per the specified protocol.
