Gurugram, Apr 22 (IANS): In a bid to add valuable contribution in the fight against Covid-19, Gurugram Metropolitan City Bus Ltd (GMCBL) has decided to use its buses to collect samples of corona suspects.

GMCBL has chosen three places in the city such as parking lot of Leisure Valley ground, Tau Devi Lal Stadium and parking of Sheetala Mata temple.

Sonal Goel, the CEO of GMCBL said: "The mobile Covid-19 sample collection bus has started operations in the city. In leisure valley ground, the bus has been staying for 4 hours and other two places for 2 hours."

"The corona suspects who have been prescribed for covid test can reach out there and give their samples. We are using our Gurugaman buses for the purpose," she said.

The idea is to reach at doorstep of Covid-19 suspects. We are also planning to move these buses in containment zones," Goel said.

While sharing its features, she said that the buses are modified in a way to make it convenient for medical staff including technicians and pathologists.
