Issue of migrants must be addressed first: Rahul

New Delhi, Apr 23 (IANS): The Congress working committee which met on Thursday deliberated on the issue of migrant labourers who are stuck at different places. Former Congress president Rahul Gandhi said it should be addressed as first "priority" and the "economic activity" should also start in green zones.

Rahul Gandhi in the CWC meet said, "Issue of migrant workers needs to be addressed on priority basis."

He said economic activity should start in green zones. "Lockdown is a mere pause button. As a Nation, we need to think of a transition from one lockdown to another only in disease hotspots and commencement of activities in green zones," he said.

Congress General secretary Priyanka Gandhi also raised the issue of migrants. She said, "as times pass by, we need to permit migrant workers to return home after due testing and precautions."

"Compassion is the key to fight Covid-19 and not hostility towards the victim of Corona," she added.

Earlier, Sonia Gandhi said that unemployment is likely to increase further as economic activity remains at a standstill. It is imperative to provide at least Rs 7,500 to each family to tide over this crisis as migrant labourers are still stranded, jobless and desperate to return home.

The comment by Congress chief comes across as shallow and desparate. No concrete evidence or reason has been provided to accuse the ruling party of spreading communal prejudice. I believe that there is still of scope of improvement in the methods to tackle all issues surrounding COVID19 pandemic in India. However, the Congress chief lacks clarity in pointing what these measures would look like.

This party and this team will never become sensible. They need to come up a new TEA M and with some thing new to counter BJP. This committee will be forgotten in a couple of days.

There is no point in giving suggestions to this government as the leader is the most intelligent person in the world. He knows everything. He delayed the screening at the airport till Namaste Trump and buying of MP MLAs are completed. He knew that Corona Virus can wait.

He also did the masterstroke of lockdown in short notice and extended it as the balance between lockdown and economy is not important. He knows that the human life is important for rich and elite but daily wagers and migration workers can survive and somebody else will take care of them. He knew that PPE was not that important for Health Workers because they can still use rain coat and Indians are good in doing jugaad. He knew that it was important to have events like Taali Bajavo, Deep Jalao as Corona Virus can run away.

He is expert in everything and hence your suggestion is not of big value. His fake university has already successful in declaring that you lack intelligence and many fake videos have been circulated to make people believe that.

So better to leave him alone and he will come to know the reality sooner than later.

Now our patriotic followers of the ruling govt will come out with names for RG and his mother, taunting 'as if they are the only experts in current matters'. Well, please read below, a small portion about what is published in a popular Daily :

    Quote
A report by Axis Bank has said that India would go into recession in FY21 – the first time in 40 years because of the lockdown to prevent the spread of Covid-19.
    Unquote

There has been two recessions recently in the world and in India was an acclaimed economist running the government. He never let the nation feel the recession because of his expertise. You guys who are hailing the current government so much, please look forward to the smooth sailing off of India. No, I am not rubbing the salt, I too will be experiencing the recession along with you. Lets see how your dynamic leader handles the matters.

    Jai Hind.
