Delhi sets up panel to frame SOPs for health workers' security


New Delhi, Apr 24 (IANS): The Delhi government on Thursday formed a six-member committee to frame, in 48 hours, the SOPs and security protocols for the security of the healthcare professionals.

The committee, under the chairmanship of Principal Secretary, Health and Family Welfare, will frame the standard operating procedures, within 48 hours, an order signed by Delhi Chief Secretary Vijay Dev said.

The members of the committee include Special Commissioner of Police, Deputy Commissioner, a DGHS official and two members of IMA, Delhi.

The orders also said that adequate security should be provided and stringent action should be taken against offenders who obstruct the performance of the last rites of the medical professionals.
