New Delhi, Apr 25 (IANS): A 34-year-old man has been arrested for killing his wife in west Delhi's Madipur area which has been declared as a containment zone due to rising number of coronavirus positive cases, the police said on Saturday.

The incident happened after the man, Raisul Azam had a heated argument with his wife Gulshan over the future of their children.

The police said, "On Saturday morning, we received a call from JJ colony, Madipur, that a couple is having a big fight. When we reached there we found the dead body of the woman lying on the floor."

The police said Raisul Azam himself was present there and he confessed to the crime.

According to the police, Azam does odd jobs for a living in Jahangir Puri area and he had married Gulshan just a few months back.

Azam has three children from his first wife while Gulshan has six children from her previous husband. All of them live in a single room house in Madipur.

This is the third murder in last 24 hours in the national capital.
