Dubai, Apr 30: A woman was rescued by the Dubai police while committing suicide along with her husband in their apartment. The Dubai police on suspect rushed to the apartment and broke open the door, but it was too late to save the husband.

According to reports from the Arabic daily, an Asian man went to the Naif police station along with his grand-daughter and told the police that the couple had left her few hours before. But he could not reach his son after that and approached the police station for help.

The police rushed to the apartment, Al Raffa, where the couple resided and smelt gas and grew suspicious. Therefore, they broke open the door and found the couple lying on their bed. The husband had already died, but the wife seemed to be still breathing. The police rushed her to the hospital and was kept in the intensive care unit.

Upon interrogation after she gained her consciousness, she admitted to have had a pact along with her husband to end their lives as they were facing some psychological issues.

Generally, a missing case is filed after 24 hours but the prompt thought and action of the Dubai police can be credited in not waiting for the designated time and swinging into immediate action and saving the woman's life.
