Moodbidri, Jan 6: Chief Minister B S Yeddyurappa reiterating state government’s pro-farmer stand said that the government has no intention to hurt farmers and issue of handcuffing farmers at Dharwad has been taken very seriously.



He was speaking to media persons at helipad before leaving to participate at Alva’s Virasat – 2010 on Wednesday, January 6. CM said that police personnel including two constables and one head constable were already suspended relating to the issue and strict action will be taken on other police officers, if found negligent. 

The budget will be presented the next month, he said and maintained that the budget will be pro-poor and not burdensome to common man. The budget will prioritize infrastructure, health and education too, he added.  

No New Taluks Soon 

On a query whether Mulky taluk will be formed as the pressure as heightened from the people of the area, CM said that there is no proposal for formation of any taluks soon and if any will be taken up for discussion only after the budget.

    Mr CM,we would like to welcome you to our native place(Moodbidri)and please declare Moodbidri as a taluk. Farmers are "ANNADATA"If your govt attacks with lathi and gun we will be in with out food.The way Davanagere district commissioner holding lathi and manning farmers with threat is very unfortunate and never seen a DC personaly manning the situation.

    Show some sympathy towards these poor farmers as you were taken oath of office in their name.It is very unfortunate inspite of your repeated press meet on the issue police not showed restraint towards them.In Moodbidri you made a serious statement,if implemented by the official, we will appriciate your concen towards "ANNADATHA" JAI- KARNATAKA
