55 more test positive in J&K, highest single-day surge


Jammu, May 12 (IANS): In the highest single-day surge so far, 55 people tested positive on Tuesday in Jammu and Kashmir, taking the total number of Covid-19 cases in the Union Territory (UT) to 934.

A statement issued by the Information and Public Relations department said that 55 persons tested positive in J&K on Tuesday, of which 13 are from the Jammu division and 42 from the Kashmir division.

This is the highest single-day surge in the number of positive cases in J&K.

Ten patients have succumbed to the dreaded virus so far, while 455 persons have completely recovered.

The number of active cases in the UT 469, out of which 34 are in the Jammu division and 435 are in the Kashmir division.
