Mangaluru, Jun 8: A few mosques reopened in the city for prayers on Monday June 8. Mosques opened along with other places of worship after two-and-half months.
In Zeenath Baksh Juma Masjid at Bunder, worshippers maintained social distance in mosques when praying. The mosque caretakers had made the necessary arrangements to meet the new requirements of social distancing to check the spread of coronavirus.
Faithful had come to the mosques with their own individual mats to offer the prayers.
It may be recalled, in view of the nationwide lockdown to halt the spread of coronavirus, clerics had asked people not to gather in mosques to offer Friday prayers and, instead, offer prayers from home.
