Mangaluru: Body of security guard who went missing from Netravati bridge found

Mangaluru, Jun 20: The body of a man, serving as a security guard, who went missing from Netravati bridge, was found at Uliya in the morning on Saturday June 20. The body was fished out by locals.

The deceased Surendra Rai (45) from Talapady was suspected to have jumped into Netravati river from Ullal bridge on national highway 66 near Jappinamogaru late afternoon on Friday June 18.

Surendra was working as a security guard for a private hospital in the city along with his wife in the same hospital. As his mobile phone was found at the spot, people suspected that he would have plunged into the river below. Police who visited the spot confiscated the mobile for further investigation.

The reason for Surendra taking the extreme step is not known. Kankanady town police station personnel visited the spot where the body was found and undertook investigation.
