MLC polls: BJP fields super rich candidates with Nagaraj worth over Rs 1,200 crore assets

Bengaluru, Jun 20 (IANS): In contrast to the grassroots leaders Karnataka BJP had fielded in the recent Rajya Sabha elections, the party has zeroed in on one of the richest candidates and similar others for the biennial legislative council elections.

M. T. B. Nagaraj, the party's MLC candidate, has declared assets worth Rs 1,220 crore, including his wife M. Shantakumari's assets, emerging as the richest person in fray.

According to the affidavit he filed with the Chief Electoral Officer's office, details about Nagaraj's assets ran into multiple pages.

M T B Nagaraj’s net worth is a little over Rs 1,200 crore, according to an affidavit he submitted to the Chief Electoral Officer. The Congress rebel’s assets have grown by more than Rs 160 crore over 18 months. While he declared assets worth Rs 1,015.43 crore during the previous Assembly elections in 2018, this year it is about Rs 1,223 crore. In 2013, his net declared assets was just Rs 470 cores.

If you shift loyalty to BJP, no elected candidate India is going to face the corruption charges and has face CBI grilling like former union minister Chidbharam or Congress state president DK Shivakumar.

As long as you serve for BJP, all corrupt money is called 'Amrutha'.

You only stated that his asset was just above 200 crores in 2023 and in 2018 it increased to 1015 crores in five years. So at that time he was a clean candidate for Khangress. So each year on an average increase was around 200 crores. So if a person is in khangress it is o k if his wealth increases?
One thing is clear that the allegation of nidderamayya that each person got 20 to 25 crores to change party is false as this person had more than 1000 crores at that time.

He is exempted from IT, ED, NIA, CBI and police raids, declaration and grilling for hours and days just for being in BJP party. Chidambaram and his son have had less than half of this assets have been taken for task in spite of declarations of legal funds with proof of genuine source. All crimes are forgiven if you belong to a 'Holier Than Thou' political party called BJP.
