Mangaluru: Serial killer Cyanide Mohan proven guilty in 20th murder case

Daijiworld Media Network - Mangaluru (MS)

Mangaluru, Jun 21: The guilt of Cyanide Mohan Kumar (57), accused in the serial rape and murder cases, was proven guilty again in the rape and murder case of a young girl from Kasargod, whom he took to Bengaluru on the pretext of getting married. The verdict was pronounced by the sixth additional and sessions court of Mangaluru on Saturday, June 21.

Mohan Kumar was pronounced guilty in the case by judge Saidunnisa. This is the 20th and last case of accused Mohan Kumar. The quantum of punishment will be pronounced on June 24 in all probability.

The 25-year-old victim in this case was working as a cook in a ladies' hostel in Kasargod. She got acquainted with Mohan in 2009. He had promised to marry her and had visited her house thrice.

On July 8, 2009, the woman had left her house saying that she was going to temple at Sullia. Accused Mohan had taken the woman to Bengaluru from Sullia. After three days, when the family members of the woman called Mohan to inquire about her, Mohan had told them that he and the woman had got married and would return home soon. He declined their request to speak to the woman saying that she had gone for a bath.

Mohan Kumar, who had booked a room in a lodge in Bengaluru, had taken the victim to the nearby bus stand of the lodge and had given cyanide tablet to her. The woman, who consumed the tablet, had collpased near the toilet of the bus stand. She died when she was being taken to hospital by Ramakrishna, a constable attached to Upparpet police station. When Mohan Kumar was arrested in 2009 October, the sister of the deceased woman had filed a complaint against him.

It was proved during post-mortem that the body of deceased woman had traces of cyanide. Public prosecutor Judith O M Crasta had argued the case earlier and later Jayaram Shetty had taken over on behalf of the prosecution.

He has already been convicted and sentenced to death in other murder case. What is the purpose of trying for remaining cases? If he had committed 100 murders, should he be tried in all 100 murders at the tax payers expense? This is a draw back in the system needs to be set right by the legislators.

This Serial killer Cyanide Mohan crimes are unaccountable. By the time his last case will be heard he may even cross 100 years of life span.
I would like to request all the pending cases against this criminal should be heard in fast track court and capital punishment should be awarded to him immediately.
If it is China or Middle East he may have already awarded death sentence.

there is no point in calling him by a titular name "Cyanide Mohan" as if he is a hero/celebrity/fictional character...

better to call him by real name Anand Kulal which gives touch of real world to the horrible criminal that he is...

Respected Judge, I earnestly request him to release him immediately, but.......but.. before leaving him, please order to cut off his sexual organ, remove both eyes and cut both legs from knee.
If you can write any other painful and dreadful punishment, please do it , the full bench in heaven will honour you.

HE HAS TO FACE THE DEATH SUCH A WAY THAT HE REMEMBERS PAIN OF ALL LADIES HE KILLED AND PAIN OF THEIR FAMILY. HE HAS TO GET PUNISHMENT SUCH A WAY THAT HE HAS TO FEEL MORE PAIN THAN PAIN OF X 20 GIRLS SUFFERED WHEN HE MURDERED THEM. HANGING IS A SIMPLE PUNISHMENT FOR HIM. HE HAS TO SUFFER FOR 20 MONTHS WITH PAIN AND THEN HE HAS TO DIE. HOPE OUR LAW WILL GIVE SUITABLE JUSTICE FOR ALL INNOCENT GIRLS HE KILLED AND THEIR FAMILIES

For all the comments below, my reply will be ...... Our's is not a banana republic or a monarchy.
We have a judiciary and a constitution which ensures a fair trial to everyone, be it a rapist or a murderer.
The process might be long, but justice will be delivered.

20 or murders and the accused is still alive. Execute him immediately for taking lives of many innocent girls. Girls trust these kind of criminals. Before commiting for marriage meet each others family members. Meeting only the boy is not enough. Girls trust cheaters.
