Mangalore: Central Excise Day - Manipal Group, Magnum Intergrafiks Among Awardees

Mangalore, Feb 25: The Central Excise Day was jointly organized by central excise and service tax department of Mangalore at Bejai Church Hal here on Wednesday February 24.

Speaking after inaugurating the programme, professor emeritus, department of ophthalmology, KMC, Mangalore Dr C R Kamath said that the role of central excise is crucial in collection of various central tax, thus strengthening the economy of the nation.























The award under the category of central excise of corporate houses was bagged by Manipal Group and chief financial officer Bharat Nayak. The award under category of service tax of partnership firms was bagged by Bharat Builders and the award was received by firm’s managing partner Anand G Pai. The award under the category of service tax of corporate houses was received by chairman Sudhir P Ghate on behalf of Magnum Intergrafiks Pvt Ltd. The award under the category of service tax for proprietary firm was bagged by Shainy Constructions. 

Manipal Media Press Ltd, Udupi and Kanara Wood and Plywood Industries Ltd, Mangalore also received awards for paying central excise. 

The officers of the central excise and service tax department of Mangalore were felicitated on the occasion. M Ajith Kumar IRS, the commissioner of central excise, Mangalore, presided. 

Arvind Singh IRS, the commissioner of central excise (appeals), Mangalore, L K Gupta, the finance director of MRPL, Mangalore, Srinivas Kamath, the president of Kanara Chamber of Commerce and Industry and Gujjadi Prabhakar Nayak, the president of Udupi District Chamber of Commerce among others were present.
