Bangalore: Konkani Sahitya Academy to Hold Two-day Sangeetotsav

Bangalore, Feb 26: Karnataka Konkani Sahitya Academy will hold two-day ‘Sangeetotsav’ at Bengaluru Gayana Samaja, K R Road here on Saturday February 27 and Sunday February 28.

The inaugural programme will be held on Saturday at 5.00 pm. DK district in-charge minister J Krishna Palemar will inaugurate. Mangalore South MLA Yogish Bhat, B R Jayachamaraje Urs, secretary, department of Kannada, director of Kannada and Culture Manu Baligar and Dr P Dayanand Pai, founder of Century Builders will be the chief guests. Konkani Sahitya Academy president Kundapur Narayan Kharvi will preside.

Various group and solo singers will perform in the fest. It will be a grand treat for all the Konkani music-lovers.

The valedictory function will take place on Sunday evening. State home minister V S Acharya, Third State Finance Commission Recommendation Implementation Task Force chairman A G Kodgi, Fr Henry D’Souza, Bishop of Bellary and actress Chitra Shenoy will be the chief guests.

The purpose of the fest is to encourage the budding musical troupes and individual singers in the Konkani music industry. All music lovers are free to attend the fest.
