Beltangady, Feb 28: The corruption that was rampant in politics, administration has exceeded in private sphere, while shunning bribes can only effectively curb the menace of corruption. It would not cease to exist, unless such corrupt people are isolated in the society, said Lokayukta Justice Santhosh Hegde.

Justice Hegde was delivering keynote address during the late Gopal Sharma memorial lecture, held here on Sunday February 28. “Despite the law has been enacted to reveal the property details owned by judges, they themselves don’t reveal them. If the judges who are expected to be transparent in their affairs, from whom can the honesty be expected? He questioned.

The politics has become a business where selfish motives mar the democratic values, said Hegde

Story writer Nemichandra expressed deep concern over the pollution of land and water bodies in the state and also degeneration of human values.

Dr H S Raghavendra, eminent critic from Mysore presided. He said that one cannot identify friends without segregating foes. The solution cannot be found unless issues have been well understood. One should be open to ideas by realizing the meaning in what others say, he added. 

Professor D Javare Gowda of Sharada First Grade College, Sullia dwelled on C V Gopal Sharma’s personality. 

K S Ramesh Mudhola of RSS delivered the introductory address. Harshavardan P R, journalist from Gulbarga spoke on two generations of books.

Writer Arvind Chokkady, son of Gopal Sharma was also present.

    Justice Santhosh Hegde...You can catch only those indulged in corruption...!!!! Unfortunately you do do not have powers to sack even a peon in government offices...!!???? Then how we the common people can get justice or fight against corruption...!!????

    CORRUPTION,GREED,CHEATS, THESE ARE ALL TRAITS OF HUMAN BEING AND HAVE BEEN THERE AND WILL ALWAYS BE THERE.. THE DETERRENT TO THIS IS ONLY STRICT APPLICATION OF LAW AND SPEEDY DELIVERY OF JUDGEMENT SO THAT IT BECOMES A LESSON TO ONE AND EVERY ONE.. CHILDREN IN EVERY SCHOOL ARE TAUGHT MORALS LIKE NOT TO LIE, NOT TO CHEAT, NOT TO BE GREEDY ETC ETC
