Mangalore: Grand Finale of Festival of Elderly Held

Mangalore, Mar 1: The grand finale of the festival of the elderly was held at the St Alosiyus College auditorium here, recently.

The programme began with a prayer song by MSW students. Chief guest former minister Vinay Kumar Sorake, Dr Olinda Pereira, Santosh Kumar Kadri, managing trustee, Dr Audrey Pinto, chairperson, Vishwas Trust were on the dais.

 

Vinay Kumar Sorake awarded the certificates to the winner of the competition which was held during the festival month for the Elderly and addressed the senior citizen and expressed his concern on their plight in the current scenario and applauded the Vishwas Trust for its efforts in reaching out to our elderly.

Ratna Pinto, trustee of Vishwas Trust welcomed the gathering. Sr Roseline, MSW student gave a brief account of the festival month of the elderly. V Reshma Soan, social worker of the Vishwas Trust proposed the vote of thanks.

The cultural programme was organized by the Bejai Day Centre and MSW students followed by spot game that added colour to the event. Allan Lobo compered the programme.
