Mangalore, Mar 7: Vidwan Prof Padekallu Narasimha Bhat has been selected the president of the 16th Dakshina Kannada District Sahitya Sammelana.

74-year-old Bhat hails from Padekallu, Karopady of Vittal of Bantwal taluk. He holds a postgraduate degree in Sanskrit and is a scholar in the field of Sanskrit and Kannada grammar.

Bhat has also served as a teacher and his contribution has been immense as the art-cultural thinker. Earlier, he had also presided over the Bantwal Taluk Sahitya Sammelana.
