Mangalore, Mar 8: St Aloysius College Alumni Association (SACAA) organized a felicitation programme on Saturday March 6 to celebrate their securing ‘A’ grade in NAAC re-accreditation and for being selected by the UGC as the college with ‘Potential for Excellence’.
In the programme, SACAA honoured its retired and present staff members who have served the institution for more than 25 years.
Speaking on the occasion, Fr Joseph Rodrigues, rector of St Aloysius Institutions, said that a teacher plays a very important role in the life of students as well as for the institution. “Teacher or Guru is always equal to God, and our surrender to him means the attainment of everything”, he said adding that the felicitation programme is a recognition like an offering to God.
Fr Denzil Lobo, director, Aloysius Institute of Management and IT (AIMIT), said that any institution is in the hands of its staff members. “The hard work and service they render to the institution forms a good institution, so every one in the institution is important”, he added.
SACAA president Edmond Franc and secretary Michael D’Souza were also present. Prof R Lourdswamy and Prof Victor spoke in response to the felicitation and on behalf of all the honoured members.
