Udupi: Nine Injured in Road Accident on National Highway

Udupi, Mar 8: A private service bus and a tempo carrying poultry birds were involved in a head on collision in Kaup on national highway 17 on the evening of Sunday March 7. In the accident that occurred near Vidyaniketan group of schools, nine persons were injured.

The bus was moving towards Udupi, while the poultry birds were being taken to Mangalore. The injured have been identified as Ganesh (24) from Kaup, who was driving the tempo, Sharanappa (23), and Madesh (20) from Koppal, who were travelling in the tempo, and bus passengers, Renuka Bagalkot (23), Mohammed Siraj (23) from Udupi, Renuka Kombagudde (45), Sunita Kukkikatte (32), her son Pranesh (2) and Sujata Sukumar (64).

Some other people sustained minor injuries, and were given first aid in the local hospitals. A case in this respect, has been registered in Kaup police station.
